Forgotten Word: Bathhouse
Suggested Event: The mansion will transform to become a multi-floored bathhouse. The lowest floor will sport lockers that work by Wonderland's usual closet standards so that characters will not be entirely cut off from their resources, as well as sleeping rooms, but otherwise the days that follow are likely to be very uncomfortable. Each floor of the bathhouse is flooded with heat and steam, with both growing thicker and more intense the higher you go. Unfortunately, the heat isn't all characters have to worry about.
Each floor of the bathhouse will be populated by various shadows that will increase in strength and aggression as characters ascend. While most characters who are combat-capable will be able to defend themselves against these shadows without much trouble, the real threat will appear should characters spend much time outside of the first floor's safe zone. Characters will find themselves approached by their own Shadows, doppelgangers that are physical manifestations of their own deepest, darkest thoughts. Every nasty or insecure thought you've ever had about yourself, the things that you like least about yourself, will be represented by your Shadow. Shadows are known for taunting and baiting their real selves. Accepting your Shadow as a part of you will, in essence, defeat it-- but it's not always that simple. Your Shadow is guaranteed to tell you things that you don't want to hear, twisting your true feelings to such a degree that you might very well find yourself too ashamed to admit that it's a part of you. In addition, these Shadows in particular will not only prey on your hidden feelings and insecurities, but specifically reflect a character's fears concerning what other people think of them. If you deny your Shadow and refuse to accept it, it will gain strength and go haywire, evolving into a more powerful version of itself. A character cannot defeat their own Shadow in combat alone, and so denying your Shadow to this degree without adequate backup will result in a character being overpowered and killed by their Shadow, resulting in a mansion death.
